FINANCIAL POLICY

Communication with our patients regarding our financial policy assists us in providing the best of service to you. For this reason, we feel it is important to clarify our policy in advance of your procedure. Payment is required at the time services are rendered. We accept cash, cashiers’ checks, money orders, personal checks, MasterCard and VISA.

As a courtesy to patients with insurance, we will bill your insurance and withhold action for 60 days. If your insurance company fails to pay within this period, you will be responsible to pay the balance of your bill in full and seek reimbursement from your insurance company. If you have an annual deductible or co-payment, this will be required at the time of surgery.

The Greater Sacramento Surgery Center accepts Medicare. Medicare patients will be glad to know we accept assignment on Medicare approved procedures. This means we do not charge more than Medicare allowable amounts for approved procedures. We will be happy to bill Medicare for you. Medicare requires patients to pay 20% of the approved Medicare payment for their facility fee. If you have a secondary insurance, be sure to provide us with this information so that we can bill for this portion. For Medicare patients without a secondary insurance the 20% co-payment is payable at the time services are rendered.

If you have Medi-Cal, you MUST bring your VALID CURRENT MONTH’s card and VALID IDENTIFICATION with you. NO EXCEPTIONS.

REMEMBER: The Greater Sacramento Surgery Center has global fees for surgical procedures so, for most patients, we are able to estimate our fee; however, following surgery our billing office will review your chart and may adjust your fee. Our global fees cover pre-operative evaluation, use of the operating room, all necessary medications during your stay, all nursing care including recovery room, and routine lab work only. Occasionally, certain cosmetic surgery fees may be greater than the basic fee quoted because of extra time requirements. X-rays, Implants and additional services provided by your doctor may also increase your charge. If you have any questions regarding our financial policy or your fees, please do not hesitate to contact our business office at 929-7229.

ALSO: OUR FACILITY FEE DOES NOT INCLUDE THE FEE FOR YOUR SURGEON OR YOUR ANESTHESIOLOGIST, TAKE HOME PRESCRIPTIONS, OR THE FEES FOR LABORATORY, RADIOLOGY OR PATHOLOGY SERVICES ORDERED BY YOUR SURGEON. You will be billed directly by the outside provider. Cash paying patients must pay the anesthesiologist separately. Please bring a separate cashiers’ check, or money order. VISA or MasterCard also will be accepted.
